RICH AND DEB'S SPACEWelcome to our BLOG site where ever we may be! June 18 Back to Visit Perth Zoological GardensSome members of the Rockingham Garden Club enjoyed a day trip to view the Perth Zoological Gardens yesterday. I had not been to the gardens for over 15 years so it was a very pleasant winter outing. Although it started out fairly cool in the morning, by lunch time, it was a very pleasant twenty degrees. We were escorted by volunteer guides through the "Rainforest" and "Palms" sections. After lunch we were given time to search out the animals. There are no bars or cages in this zoo, and you must look closely for many of the animals! It is a brilliant zoo which has a very successful breeding program for many critically endangered species. Rich and I live almost next door to the Brno Zoo in Czech Republic. They could learn so much about care of their animals from the Perth Zoo. Here are some photos, ahoj from us June 03 Deb's 50th Birthday CelebrationsWe have had the best weekend ever!!!!!! I am now over the hill!! and lovin' it. My wonderful friends and some special family members celebrated my birthday with me at the gorgeous "Peel Manor House", Baldivis on Saturday night(30th). The limosine service took us for a scenic drive around Rockingham before arriving at the venue. The food and the service was excemplery. On Sunday, the "little people" in my friends group were able to enjoy my birthday too at the picnic at Marapana Wildlife Park. I was lucky to be given the chance to hold a baby koala! Hope you enjoy the photos. love from Deb and Rich (always). May 16 Queensland trip - May 09Spent a lovely week with my dear Aunt and Uncle in Caboolture, Queensland. Plenty of sunshine and smiles all round. Pity Rich couldn't take time off to come as well. We travelled into the hinterland as well as doing some sightseeing in Toowoomba, the "Garden City". Didn't go much on the standard of Virgin Blue flights. Hint: If you are travelling on long haul flights, best to take your own blanket and pillow! Have a great day, Deb and Co. April 24 A dear Aunty came to call on us all the way from TasmaniaA dear Aunt came to stay with us last week. And I managed to organise (in record time) for her to meet up with as many other relatives here in WA that I could find. She really enjoyed meeting up with everyone and so did we. It was a great excuse to travel to Fremantle again and the weather stayed beautiful. Ahoy from here to there.... April 13 Our Easter Story 2009We have had a wonderful relaxing 4 day break this Easter |
